Leaks
Water disappearing, wet spots, a level that never holds. We pressure-test lines, check fittings and find the leak before it becomes a rebuild.

Independent technician · reefsidecairns.com
Leaks, gear that won’t run, a handover if you just bought the house — and weekly or monthly cleans if you ask. Cairns and the whole Far North.

The work
Reefside is a Cairns-based pool technician. The job is leaks, plant that won’t start, water that won’t come good, and walking a new owner through the box in the corner they inherited with the house.
Cleaning exists — weekly or monthly, on request. Chemicals are never bundled into the visit. They’re billed extra, and we keep them cheap.
What we do
Water disappearing, wet spots, a level that never holds. We pressure-test lines, check fittings and find the leak before it becomes a rebuild.
Dead pump, no pressure, noisy motor, salt cell that’s given up, chlorinator in fault. Diagnose first, then repair or replace — no upsell theatre.
Just bought the house and the pool is a mystery. We walk the plant, test the water, and tell you what to do, how often, and what can wait.
Algae, swamp water, cyclone silt. Shock, floc, vacuum-to-waste and balance until it’s swim-ready. We say how long before we start.
Cell clean, chlorinator setup, pH probes, acid dosing, sanitiser faults. The box has to work — pretty water doesn’t last otherwise.
Someone told you to dump a bucket of this and hope. We test, explain what’s actually wrong, and leave you a simple list — not a lecture.
On request, not by default. Skim, vacuum, brush, baskets, water test. Chemicals are billed extra and kept cheap — you only pay for what the water needs.
Empty for weeks, guests on Friday. A one-off rescue or a clean on the roster if you want one. Same rule: chemicals extra, priced low.

New owners
Settlement dumped a pump, a chlorinator and a body of water on you. We come out, walk every bit of plant, test the water, and leave a list you can actually follow: what to do this week, once a month, and when to call someone back.
No franchise script. No “sign up for weekly or else.” If you want to run it yourself after that, good. If you want a clean roster later, also fine.
Green to glass
Wet season, empty house, or a pump that died in February. Most backyard pools are swim-ready in two to four days. Chemicals for the recovery are billed extra — green water drinks a lot, and we don’t hide that in the visit price.

Callouts
Chemicals are never included. They’re billed on what the water needs, and we keep them cheap.

How it works
01
A photo of the water, the box, or the leak. Suburb and a callback number. We pick up any hour, seven days.
02
Ute, test kit, gauges. Cairns or a long way out, same diagnosis. Far jobs pick up a small call-out. You get the truth before the invoice.
03
Leak, pump, cell, green water. Then a note in plain English. Chemicals, if needed, are billed extra and kept cheap.
04
Weekly or monthly if you want it. Plenty of people just want it fixed and to run it themselves.

“Just settled in Edmonton. Didn’t know a salt cell from a skimmer. One visit, a list on the fridge, and I can actually run the thing.”
“Pool was dropping overnight. Two other blokes wanted to start digging. He found the fitting, fixed it that afternoon.”
“Chlorinator in fault all wet season. He rebuilt the cell, explained why it kept dying, and didn’t try to sell me a weekly clean.”
